How do I book a machine?

You can book a machine in a number of ways:

How long is a Day Hire?

A day hire runs from 8am to 4pm, this may vary a little if we are delivering or collecting, dependent on the availability of our transport and how busy we are. We will advise on timing when you book your machine. 

How long is a weekend hire?

Our weekend hires run from 8am Saturday morning to 8am Monday morning. The yard is closed on Sundays. We can arrange to deliver machines on Friday evening at 5pm if Saturday delivery is not possible.

How long is a week hire?

A weekly hire runs for 7 consecutive days, including weekends. For example, if you hire a machine on Tuesday, the expected return date is 5pm on the following Monday.

Do I need to provide anything?

If you have not previously hired from us, we need to see at least two documents, one of which must be photo ID, to prove your identity and confirm your home address. We need to take copies of these, so you will either need to email them to us or bring them in person.

Acceptable forms of Photo ID include Driving licence card, Passport or Military ID card.

You will need also to bring documentation to confirm your address, such as a utility or council tax bill or any official letters showing your current home address.

How does the Fuel Policy work?

All our machines leave the yard with a full tank of fuel and most of them run on diesel.

You are expected to refill the tank before we pick the machine up at the end of the hire duration or prior to you bringing it back.

If the machine or tool is not refilled, there will be an additional charge to cover that cost.

Can I hire an operator with my machine?

Yes, we have fully licenced and insured operators who are very experienced and can assist with your project.

Cost of an operator is from £200 per day, based on our normal day hire hours, this is in addition to the cost of machine hire and delivery charges. You will only be charged for delivery of the machine, not the operators travel if they are required for more than one day.

Can you do a complete job for me, rather then me hiring out a machine?

Do you hire trailers so I can pick up the machine myself?

Yes, we have trailers available for hire at a daily rate of £25. Trailers are suitable for machines up to 3 tons.

Machines over 3 tons require specialist transport which is chargeable, dependant on the distance taken.

You can collect and return your own machine if you have a suitable trailer and towing vehicle.

Where can I insure the machine I hire?

There are various plant hire insurance companies who deal with short term hire. We do not endorse any particular company, but our personal preference is JCB.
